Vancouver Kingsway is a shining example of the best that Canada can be: a vibrant community of people from all corners of the world living, working and thriving together. Our diversity, creativity and harmony are truly our strength.

It is an honour to represent our interests in Parliament.

But there is much more to do.

From creating the sustainable economy of tomorrow to building truly affordable housing to improving our healthcare system, I know that we can achieve much more by working together.

Make Life More Affordable

Life is increasingly too expensive for many Canadians. From unaffordable rent to high tuition to excessive cell phone and internet costs, Liberal and Conservative policies have failed millions of citizens.

Don and the NDP believe it’s time to put the interests of middle and working-class Canadians ahead of the rich and large corporations.

Keep Canadians Healthy

The COVID pandemic has demonstrated to all Canadians how vital our public healthcare system is. We are very proud of our healthcare workers. However, our system is far from comprehensive, and it can be improved.

Don will continue to work in Parliament to expand our public healthcare system to include mental health, Pharmacare and dental care.

Confront the Climate Crisis

The climate crisis is the foundational issue of our time. It represents an existential threat to all species. Don believes passionately in protecting our planet and taking urgent action - now.

Don will fight for bold policies to reduce carbon emissions, transition to clean energy, create sustainable jobs, expand habitat and protect our old growth forests.

Provide Affordable Housing

Housing is not just a commodity – it is a necessity. It is unacceptable in a country as wealthy as Canada that citizens don’t have access to secure, decent and affordable housing.

Don will continue to fight for the full range of housing that is desperately needed. He is especially committed to building tens of thousands of new co-op units.

Build an Inclusive Canada

Don has worked for decades to advance human rights. In Parliament, he has championed equality and inclusive policies to ensure everyone in our community is respected.
From fighting for Indigenous justice to advancing LGBTQ2S+ rights to combating discrimination, Don is a dedicated voice for multiculturalism and diversity.
